A little longer than the first, but shorter than the previous, the HumanX weight vest is perfect for both short and tall people alike. Those who are just starting out will enjoy the features and benefit greatly.

The flex weight design of the HumanX allows you to completely move and mobilize your torso, regardless of the weight surrounding. The MIR Plate Weight Vest in short style is a great and secure vest that holds up to 60lbs. Other features include:

With nylon flaps to completely cover weight plates and some secure straps, you won’t have to worry about this vest sliding around. The only disadvantage is that it is a short one, not a full one, but if you’re searching for this style, it’s one I’d recommend highly because of its security and ability to hold up to 60 lbs, rather than JUST 40 lbs.

This is definitely for people are seriously about doing resistance training, cross fit, training to increase your sprint times, high school football etc… What I like about this vest is that it is very compact. When you look at it, you think the guy in the picture is wearing shoulder pads. This gives you a bit more freedom to add big weight but also do quick agility type of movements. For me this is definitely one that athletes should consider.

SKLZ Weighted Vest

One of my favorite designs for weighted vests, the SKLZ takes the traditional weighted idea and combines it with modern design for comfortability. Features include:

  • Nylon and mesh design

The soft padded edges allow optimal comfort, no matter the 10lb weight included. As for the nylon and mesh design, this allows a factor of breathability for optimal comfort while working out. The design alone is worth the purchase, but the price is attractive, too. The only qualm one may find with this is that it is a very short vest, aimed at improving the upper body. Not too much of an issue, though, as it does its job well.

The BOX Super Short Weight Vest is not only aesthetically minimally, but it helps with the function and mobility of the weight you’re bearing.

The nylon fabric makes it easy to breathe, as well as easy to clean with small areas and an un-intricate fabric. For those not in the market for a super short vest, you won’t be searching for this. However, if you are, you’ve come to the right place. Most worth the purchase based on the variety you can choose from alone; the BOX weighted vest is a great investment.

CAP Barbell Adjustable Weighted Vest

Are you looking for a vest that’s a little larger and covers more surface area on your torso? If so, the CAP Barbell adjustable weighted vest is for you.

Features of this vest include:

It can be hard to find a quality vest that allows you to work with this much weight. The CAP Barbell is the rare exception, of course, catering to those who no longer need anything under 40lbs and are ready to step up their game. As with any vest, you should always consider your height to weight ratio when choosing a weighted vest. The CAP Barbell is a longer vest, so if you’re shorter, this may be a disadvantage to you. Regardless, as a short person, I would highly recommend this because it works very well and perfect for the price.

The only disadvantage to using this vest is that it’s strictly 45lbs. You cannot add or remove any weight, but it’s great for those who need something heavy for a long time. Perfect for P90x styled workouts, this is one I’d highly recommend for optimal mobility.

Cons
