The collection includes the vast majority of what Team Beachbody has put out thus far, but they also have workout videos that are exclusive to the On Demand program.
Your workout options will include all of their focus areas: HIIT, weights, cardio, low impact, yoga, dance, kids & family, maternity, and more.
Everything you would look for from a Beachbody program is here.
Furthermore, you get Beachbody On Demand all access, meaning that you have unlimited viewing in the fullest sense of the term.
You can watch as many videos per day as you want from any device (phone, lap top, tablet, etc.) regardless of your location or time zone.
There is even a Beachbody On Demand app, and it is compatible with the Apple Watch as well!
If you don’t have an Apple device with which to stream, Beachbody On Demand Roku players, Google Chromecast, and Amazon Fire are other options. It’s pretty much accessible through any device you have.
About Beachbody The Company
First, for those unfamiliar with Beachbody, it may benefit you to learn a bit about them.
Beachbody was founded by Tony Horton, fitness expert, back in 1998. The program utilizes cross-training methods to maximize your body’s positive response to regular exercise.
When a body grows accustomed to the same exercises repeated daily and/or weekly, it can stop responding. What made Beachbody so famous was its method to trick the body and keep that stagnation from happening.
The company has since created an astounding number of DVD programs varying from 30-90 day workouts and a host of focus areas, including weight loss, strength and muscle building, yoga, and more.
Beachbody On Demand also Includes
- Workout calendars for tracking progress,
- home fitness guides
- meal plans that have been personalized for you
- recipe videos from 21 Day Fix Nutrition (like having your own cooking show!)
- and all of the information that you would normally receive through their programs.
In addition, you will also be paired with a personal coach for one-to-one support and guidance. For added accountability and support, you will be given access to participate in chatrooms and message boards as well that are great for answering all of your questions.
As an added bonus, users also get a 10% discount for any future Beachbody purchases, with the opportunity to attend live webinars from their experts and celebrity trainers.

What Will It Do for My Body?
As we already hinted at above, one of the strengths of the Beachbody program in general, and especially true of Beachbody On Demand, is that they have workouts suited for just about everyone and their various home fitness goals.
By using Beachbody On Demand, you can find workouts that will help you:
- Lose weight
- Build muscle
- Strength train
- Get ripped (abs of course)
- Improve cardio
- Cleanse and reset
- Develop balance and energy
- Improve flexibility
- High Intensity Training (1)
They also offer routines for helping you become lean but strong through no-weights, low-impact workouts with their yoga and PiYo programs.
They now also offer some Tai Cheng workouts, geared towards reducing pain and improving balance, great for individuals just starting out who are needing to overcome physical obstacles.
For higher-paced workouts, you might also enjoy the ChaLEAN Extreme® Base Kit from Super Trainer Chalene Johnson, Focus T25 with Shaun T, 21 Day Fix Extreme from celebrity trainer Autumn Calabrese, or Body Beast by Sagi Kalev.
You might also enjoy Core de Force MMA-style workout, Insanity Max : 30, Shift Shop with Chris Downing, the 22 Minute Hard Corps, or their infamous Brazilian Butt Lift Workout!
In addition to the above, more serious workouts, Beachbody On Demand membership provides many workouts that focus on fun while you burn fat. Examples are their “Rockin’ Body,” “Hip Hop Abs” and “Country Heat”—each focus on fat burning while dancing and having fun.
So again, regardless of what kind of shape you are currently in and regardless of what your home fitness programs goals are, you are almost certain to find many workouts that are perfect for your unique starting point and that you can transition to as you progress.
What Will It Cost Me?
If you are like us, you probable expect this program and all it has to offer to come at a pretty price. But the Beachbody overall cost is surprisingly reasonable, even low.
Here are the current running rates for their programs:
- 3-Month Membership: $39 charged on 15th day (14-day trial option)
- 6-Month Membership: $59 charged on 1st day (30-day money-back guarantee)
- 12-Month Membership: $99 charged on 1st day (30-day money-back guarantee)
- Annual Challenge Pack: $160, 12-month continuity billed at $99 on 366th day
- Quarterly Challenge Pack: $140, 3-month continuity billed at $38.87 on 91st day
Though you only have access to the workouts for as long as you continue to pay for membership, it is an incredibly diverse and complete program.
When you consider rates for a gym membership alone, not including getting a personal trainer and then doing something separate to figure out a nutrition plan, this is far less costly.
It includes a coach you can meet with virtually one-on-one, customized meal plans, workouts for any stage you may be in and the ability to change it up, support, and freedom to make it fit your schedule.
When you think about all that you are getting for those prices, plus the free trial and/or money back guarantee, it is essentially risk free to try it out to make sure it works for you (unlike most gym memberships).
Pros & Cons
Alright, so now that we’ve given you the gist of what Beachbody On Demand is and how it works, we’re going to lay out the good and the bad so that you can make an easy comparison and decision.
Pros:
Variety of Workouts Options
No one program offers as much versatility as Beachbody On Demand membership. Because it is basically a massive library of workout programs, it has a workout program appropriate for every type of body and every type of fitness goal.
Whether you want to lose weight, build strength, or build muscle, you can find a workout to accomplish that goal. Because it is not just one DVD program, it can offer all of these.
It’s also great because goals and preferences change. Need to focus on burning weight right now, but interested in building muscle once your weight goal is achieved? No need to buy another program to do that.
Avoid boredom
Face it, after a few weeks doing the same exact workout repeatedly, you get bored with it. You may also not get all the results you want, or may be getting results you didn’t plan on.
Because there are more than 600 workout options, and more being added constantly, this won’t be a problem. If you get bored with a workout, you can change it up to something else that will still help you achieve your desired end. Avoid boredom and avoid consequently giving up on your fitness programs.
Save money
DVD / video workout programs are usually only good for 1-3 months. If you are exercising faithfully, you will have achieved the max level of that workout within that time.
Normally, this means that to keep progressing, you will have to make a new purchase ever 1-3 months. That adds up very quickly.
With Beachbody On Demand, that one purchase is basically all you need to make. You can diversify your workout without having to make more purchases, and when you finish one, you can move on to another that still aligns with your aim.
Convenience
Nothing beats the convenience of the On Demand program. It’s mobile friendly and accessible through pretty much any smart device. Take it with you wherever you go and stream it whenever, wherever.
Motivation
Unlike when you buy the DVD workouts, Beachbody On Demand Workouts gives you access to live chats with the inspiring team of trainers. It is easy to start lagging in your resolve if you don’t have a live human being to answer your questions, address your concerns, and encourage you. Beachbody On Demand removes that problem.
Beachbody On Demand Workouts FREE Trial
Need we say more? You get to try it out for 14 days for free, obligation free. If you’re not sticking with it, or if it’s just not a good fit for you, you don’t have to lose a dime.
You can also technically try them out for an entire month risk-free. You will have to pay up front for either the 6-month or 12-month, but if you aren’t liking it, you can get your money back if you do so within the first 30 days.
What Are the Draw Backs
Data-drain
A serious downside behind the uber convenience of live streaming anywhere at any time is that you will likely have to rely on an internet connection or your cellular data connection to do that. Unless you are near free, fast Wi-Fi, you will be using a LOT of data fast streaming these videos, especially if you play the HD versions.
While it’s great that you can stream them anywhere (including in the middle of the park or woods), just be prepared for the hit to your data plan. You could end up increasing your cost if you don’t watch it.
Dependent on Strong Internet Connection
Similar to the above, if you are trying to stream the videos in a more economical way by using Wi-Fi, if your location doesn’t have strong and fast internet connections, you may get frustrated very quickly.
Rent Not Owning the Workouts
With Beachbody On Demand, you never actually own any of the workouts. You pay a monthly fee and the moment you stop paying, you lose access to everything. Obviously, when you buy the DVDs, you own them for life. However, this could potentially increase your motivation to be faithful to your workouts.
You also avoid paying for shipping and handling and for delays in starting or changing up your program, which could injure your enthusiasm for working.
Beachbody On Demand In Review Conclusion
So there you have it. Everything there is to know about Beachbody’s new On Demand program. Hopefully by now, you have enough information to know whether you at least want to try it out for free or whether you need to find something that fits you better. But with the variety like this program offers, the latter is unlikely.
